About the role

Our commercial team focuses on the conceptual development of projects in areas such as delivery case, strategy and policy, helping clients through their decision-making processes and in setting up projects for future success. Our Team is often advising on procurement reform, delivery models, tender management and governance associated with large infrastructure projects. Our work often leads into complex transaction management of infrastructure tenders. Our commercial services cut through complexity and confusion, allowing a clear view of the key issues at the heart of client’s needs, helping them to plan the best path forward.

This position will play a key role in developing new business and managing important portfolios and/or programmes of work with multiple complex interfaces, ensuring outcomes that meet client needs and expectations. This will include providing overall leadership and direction across project teams under your oversight.

This role offers the opportunity to add value in dynamic environments, growing the service line and working alongside a diverse range of professionals on some of Australia’s largest and most high-profile projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clients with strategic, commercial, and transactional advice in the planning, procurement, delivery, and operation of projects across infrastructure-related projects and initiatives.
  • Drive the growth of the service line by proactively identifying and pursuing new opportunities, nurturing existing client relationships, and increasing our market share across a range of sectors including, transport, energy, and social infrastructure.
  • Manage engagements, project teams, and prepare high-quality client deliverables in a timely manner, independently or collaboratively as appropriate.
  • Helping clients to identify, evaluate and articulate the strategic value in infrastructure and infrastructure-related projects and initiatives.
  • Contribute and drive key aspects of the business, as a member of our leadership team.
  • Lead, develop and grow the existing team capability and capacity in Victoria.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you:

  • Minimum 7 years of related work experience at Associate Director/Director level.
  • Minimum 15 years’ consultancy or client-side strategic transaction advisory experience, specifically in the development of delivery strategies, transaction management, procurement and contracting.
  • Proven experience in providing strategic, transactional, and commercial advice in respect to major infrastructure projects, complex service procurement, major projects, strategy and/or transaction advisory across the transport, social infrastructure, and energy sectors.
  • Proven ability and experience of running complex transactions, including experience with EOI, RFP, ITT, evaluation, governance, reporting.
  • Qualifications in law, commerce, business management or equivalent.
  • A strong network, self-motivation, and an ability to foster relationships with key clients.
  • High level written and verbal communication, influencing and negotiation skills, proven capacity to collaborate at all levels.
  • Superior commercial acumen, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret, understand and explain complex contractual, commercial, and financial issues.
