About the role

Our commercial team focuses on the conceptual development of projects in areas such as delivery case, strategy and policy, helping clients through their decision-making processes and in setting up projects for future success. Our Team is often advising on procurement reform, delivery models, tender management and governance associated with large infrastructure projects. Our work often leads into complex transaction management of infrastructure tenders. Our commercial services cut through complexity and confusion, allowing a clear view of the key issues at the heart of client’s needs, helping them to plan the best path forward.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead high-impact portfolios and complex programmes of work within this front-end environment, guiding delivery across multiple interfaces to achieve strong client outcomes. You’ll also play a key role in growing the business, leveraging existing client relationships while building new connections and identifying opportunities to expand our impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to the shaping and delivery of front-end project phases for major projects and programs, including complex transactions, procurement and advisory services.
  • Deliver strategy, development and transaction advisory services for projects on behalf of government agencies and bidding consortiums.
  • Provide commercial, technical and process advice to support the successful development and delivery of major infrastructure and capital projects.
  • Be an active leader within the team, contributing to the growth and expansion of the business.
  • Continuously develop consulting capability in the team and share knowledge across the business, including contributing to thought leadership.
  • Deliver high-quality project outcomes and undertake project delivery tasks independently.
  • Work collaboratively within integrated project teams, alongside management and clients.
  • Anticipate, manage and escalate issues with clients and stakeholders, supporting resolution and guiding junior team members where needed.
  • Actively identify business opportunities and support their conversion into winnable work.
  • Support business development activities, including proposal writing, client engagement and maintaining external relationships.
  • Actively participate in team and company initiatives that support continuous improvement and a positive working culture.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you:

  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in a consulting firm, working on major projects
  • Proven ability and experience of running large, complex transactions, including experience with EOI, RFP, ITT, evaluation, governance, reporting is essential.
  • Understanding of major infrastructure delivery models, including collaborative contracting. Demonstrated knowledge, experience in running procurement and project delivery.
  • Ability to manage client relationships and lead discussions confidently.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering, Law, Construction Management, Project Management, or other relevant area.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and slide pack preparation.
  • Well-developed quality and results focussed orientation.
  • Demonstrated high level of initiative; problem solving and organisational agility.
  • Superior time management and organisational ability.
